Don and Rae were married Christmas Eve 1899 in Indianapolis at the homeof her parents. Don worked as as a farmer in Paris Crossing, IN. In 1911the family moved to a place called Yellow Pine in Washington County,Alabama. He worked as a street car motor man. While in Alabama hecontracted TB. He had helped tear down a house where the occupants weresaid to have has TB. He moved his family back to Illinois near hisparents. Shortly after he contacted the flu that was an epidemic inIllinois. His parents helped his family that year and during the Winterof 1919 Don died at the age of 47.
Erminna later married a man named Bill Ward. She lived out her life nearCarbondale, Illinois and died at the age of 73 of heart failure.
